1. Higgs boson. I wonder how many of the journalists who have written at least one article about the LHC have read this article, or something similar.

2. Energy storage. Lots of relevant links in the article.

3. Rice. A pretty important crop; it provides more than one fifth of the calories consumed worldwide by the human species.

5. Diseconomies of scale. Yes, econ guys can skip this article, there’s likely nothing new in this article you don’t already know.
