A few links
1) Kolyma.
2) Narmer. Clark uses the name Nar-mer, but there’s no doubt it’s the same guy.
3) Köppen climate classification.
4) Pleistocene.
All but the first of these links is of course related to Clark’s book. One could probably in theory just read the book and be content with that, but I have a very hard time not consulting wikipedia frequently while I’m reading this. The book is, as stated in the title, only “an outline”, so it doesn’t go into too much detail – and if not for the frequent wikipedia searches, I’d probably feel like I’d miss out on a lot of the fun.
To answer questions like: “When did the stone age end?” and “when did humans start using bow and arrows to hunt game with?” is a lot more difficult than you might think (two more links: the first one related to metallurgy, the other related to that bow-hunting stuff) and they have a lot of different answers, depending on which humans you’re talking about. I already feel like I’ve learned a lot from Clark, even if I’ve only read the first half of the book.
